As part of the celebrations of Monaco’s national holiday, the traditional consular meeting provided an opportunity to bring together Monaco’s honorary consuls around the Monegasque diplomatic corps and offer them an overview of current issues in the Principality.

The meeting, held on Thursday 20 November, was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and closed by the Minister of State.

Isabelle Berro-Amadeï used her speech to set out the foreign policy issues facing the Principality, emphasising in particular Monaco’s presidency of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers from May to November 2026.

Addressing Monaco’s consuls for the first time, H.E. Mr Christophe Mirmand expressed the Prince’s Government’s gratitude for their work, praising their vital role in promoting the Principality and expanding its influence on the international stage.

During the 2025 meeting, Pierre-André Chiappori, Minister of Finance and Economy, was able to provide an overview of the Principality’s economy, and Samuel Vuelta Simon, Secretary of Justice, talked about the efforts undertaken by Monaco to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

The consuls also heard presentations from Ludmilla Raconnat Le Goff, Delegate for Attractiveness to the Minister of State, and Guillaume Rose, CEO of the Monaco Economic Board.

Finally, Bénédicte Schutz, Director of International Cooperation, gave a presentation outlining the strategic priorities for Monaco’s Official Development Assistance, focused on the most vulnerable populations and prioritising local initiatives in target countries.

The meeting concluded with some friendly discussions between the consuls and representatives from Monaco’s institutions.

The Principality currently has 135 active consulates in 88 countries around the world.
