COVID-19: Closure of a Second Nursery School Class (First Year) at the Ecole Stella as a precautionary measure against Covid-19

Following the positive case identified yesterday (Monday 18 January), a further child from another nursery school class (First Year) at the Ecole Stella tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday 19 January.  The pupil has been removed from school, in accordance with the procedure recommended by the Monegasque health authorities.

As PCR tests are not carried out on nursery school pupils, and as these pupils are not required to wear masks due to their young age, the Prince's Government has decided, as a precautionary measure, that all pupils in the class concerned must remain absent from school from Wednesday 20/01/2021 until Monday 25/01/2021 inclusive.

The parents of the pupils concerned have been directly informed by the school management.  They are invited to watch for the appearance of any symptoms that are suggestive of COVID-19 in their child.

School staff who have been in contact with the pupil who tested positive for COVID-19 will be given a PCR test, in accordance with the health protocol.

The Ecole Stella continues to welcome pupils from other classes, in compliance with the health measures in force.
