CORONAVIRUS : No positive cases and one new recovery in Monaco on Wednesday

No new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Wednesday 22 April.

This means that the number of people infected by the coronavirus in the Principality remains 94. One additional recovery was reported compared with yesterday, bringing the total number of patients who have so far recovered to 27.

Five people are in hospital, three of whom are in intensive care.

It should be noted that those tested and hospitalised are not all residents of the Principality.

In accordance with the principle that has been adopted by the health authorities in the Principality of Monaco, only patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms are being hospitalised.

Those with minor symptoms are asked to self-isolate at home and will be subject to medical monitoring. As of today, 77 patients are being treated by the Home Patient Follow-Up Centre.

The aim of this approach is to avoid overburdening hospitals and to offer treatment for such patients in the city, in a way which is easy and comfortable for them.

The Prince’s Government would like to thank and offer its full support to all Monegasque nationals and residents during these unique times, which oblige us to comply with health precautions and travel restrictions.
