As part of annual celebrations in honour of Admiral de Grasse, a detachment of 20 musicians from the Ceremonial Band, the official orchestra of the 6th American Fleet based in Naples, performed a 12-minute ‘aubade’, a piece of music performed in the morning, on the Place du Palais following the changing of the Guard at 11.55 am.

H.S.H. the Prince honoured this performance with his presence, accompanied by H.E. Ms Manuela Ruosi, Italy’s new Ambassador to Monaco, who presented her credentials to the Sovereign earlier that morning.

The Ceremonial Band, led by Midshipman Adele Demi, is the leading musical ensemble for official ceremonies under the Commander of the United States Naval Forces for Europe–Africa. The band plays a vital role in strengthening ties with European and African partners by performing at official ceremonies, commemorations, parades, tattoos and other public events. Its rich and diverse repertoire includes ceremonial music, military marches and popular music.
