On Monday 20 January, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, H.E. Mr Serge Telle and numerous individuals representing Monaco’s institutions and businesses, the Strategic Council for Attractiveness (CSA) presented a report on the work it has done since it was founded in 2011. The presentation, given at the Minister of State’s Residence, included a video report and a review of activity during 2019.

By way of introduction, the Minister of State, who chairs the CSA, recalled that “the concept of attractiveness was a key issue that lay at the heart of the Principality’s economic and social model. It enables the country to attract foreign residents who contribute to its economic growth. On this occasion, I would like to pay tribute to the analytical ability and inventive approach that the Council and its members have demonstrated.”

The CSA contributes to thinking on economic growth, increasing state revenue, controlling public expenditure and the strategic direction of the Principality. The Council’s committees have issued nearly 160 proposals, covering quality of life, tourism, the art market, health care, finance and yachting.

The CSA meets throughout the year, either in full session or for workshops. It is also able to set up ad hoc working groups that include individuals who are not members of the Council, as was the case for workshops on resale rights, involving experts from the art world, and on “Smart Monaco”, involving students from the International University of Monaco.
