Minister of State takes part in 10th Monaco-Matin Eco Club Awards

During this ceremony organised by the Monaco Economic Board and the Nice-Matin group, the Minister of State awarded the Special 10th Anniversary Prize to Thierry Boutsen, the former Formula 1 driver who is now a distinguished entrepreneur in the Principality. The event, which brought together a large number of the Principality’s economic actors, highlighted the dynamic and varied nature of the Monegasque economy, as well as the successful entrepreneurs who contribute to the country’s influence here and on the international stage.

The Minister of State took the opportunity to congratulate the organisers and the Grimaldi Forum on their success in holding the event in strict compliance with current health regulations – an example of how to support the Principality’s recovery under the “Monaco Safe” certification. Pierre Dartout noted that the health situation was a continuing cause for concern, with a resurgence of the epidemic underway in Monaco and in neighbouring regions.

The Minister of State addressed all of the businesses and institutions attending the event, stressing the importance of getting vaccinated to curb the spread of COVID-19 as far as possible. “Vaccination and compliance with barrier measures are, at this stage, the most effective ways to protect yourselves and others. Every day, the vaccine shows that it is helping to prevent development of the most severe symptoms of the coronavirus. As the spread of the virus increases, we must do everything we can to increase vaccination rates. It is by working together that we will ensure that the festive season can go ahead without restrictions and avoid a lockdown,” said Pierre Dartout, whose Government has recently stepped up health measures to prevent a further lockdown or the early closing of businesses.
