COVID-19: An Update on the Vaccination Campaign

The vaccination campaign launched in the Principality on 31 December 2020 for people living in residential establishments has now been extended to those over 75 years of age.

To date, those who have expressed a wish to be vaccinated have all had their first injection.  Those who have come forward later have been given an appointment for the next few days.  More than half this age group has therefore already been vaccinated as part of the strategy implemented by the Government in consultation with the National Council.

At the same time, health workers most at risk who wished to have the vaccine have also received it.

Without delay, people between 65 and 74 years of age were invited by post to contact the call centre (92 05 55 00, open 7 days a week) to express their wish to be vaccinated.  The first vaccinations for this age group started on Tuesday morning and will continue over the next few days.

People under 65 years of age with particular risk factors are also invited to make themselves known, enclosing a medical certificate from their doctor with their request.

The objective is to pursue the strategy that has been implemented, the ultimate aim of which is to vaccinate Monegasques and residents who so wish, as well as, in a second stage, employees who wish to be vaccinated.

Against a backdrop of global tension about vaccine supplies, the Principality will continue to make every effort to vaccinate as swiftly as possible, bearing in mind that steps have already been taken and orders placed several weeks ago.

At the Joint Committee, the Government and the National Council were therefore able to discuss the best ways to achieve this.
