COVID-19: Preventative Closure of a Nursery School Class (Second Year) at the Ecole de Fontvieille

A nursery school pupil (Second Year) from the Ecole de Fontvieille tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday 20 January, following intra-family contamination.

The pupil has been removed from school, in accordance with the procedure recommended by the Monegasque health authorities.

As PCR tests are not carried out on nursery school pupils, and as these pupils are not required to wear masks due to their young age, the Prince's Government has decided, as a precautionary measure, that all pupils in the class concerned must remain absent from school from Thursday 21/01/2021 until Sunday 24/01/2021 inclusive.

The parents of the pupils concerned have been directly informed by the school management.  They are invited to watch for the appearance of any symptoms that are suggestive of COVID-19 in their child.

School staff who have been in contact with the pupil who tested positive for COVID-19 will be given a PCR test, in accordance with the health protocol.

The Ecole de Fontvieille continues to welcome pupils from other classes, in compliance with current health measures.
