6th Inter CATTP Day (Day Therapies Activity Centre)

For many years, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs has been working on behalf of children with psychological difficulties and/or learning disabilities and their families.  It was therefore associated with the organisation of the 6th Inter CATTP Day, which will take place on Thursday 18 May 2017 in the Principality, on the premises of Monaco's Vocational and Catering School (Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco).

This day event will be an opportunity to bring together child psychiatrists, psychologists, speech therapists, psychomotricians, special-education teachers, social workers and health management staff who work in the CATTPs of the neighbouring region.

On the initiative of Dr. Marcelline Renaud-Yang, child psychiatrist, who has been Head of the Monaco CATTP since November 2015, the 6th Inter CATTP day will be devoted to "Tensions and attention with regard to learning."  It will address the role of psychology and relational skills in child development, cognitive remediation in the management of attention disorder, as well as other learning-related subjects.  The aim of this day event is to share the daily practices and specificities of the various CATTPs present, namely Antibes, Cannes-Grasse and Fréjus.  Professionals will therefore be able to address and complement their multidisciplinary experience.

This day event will focus on two areas.  Firstly, the morning will be devoted to theoretical and clinical presentations by the various professionals who practice in the CATTPs represented.  Secondly, in the afternoon, the professionals will visit the premises of the Plati Centre, the Medical Psychology Service for children and adolescents, at 7 Rue Plati, where various workshops will be organised.

As a reminder, the Plati Centre, the Medical Psychology Service for children and adolescents, the name of which was adopted in 2016 with the aim of improving perception, understanding and readability for the resident population in the Principality, is comprised of three units:

-  The Medico-Social Centre (CMP)

-  The Day Therapies Activity Centre (CATTP),

-  The Learning Difficulties Screening Centre (CDTA).

Parents of children who attend school or reside in the Principality can contact the PLATI Centre by telephone to arrange an appointment for a consultation with a child psychiatrist.  Several consultations with the child will be necessary in order to make a diagnosis and decide the steps to be taken.
