FANB project: connection to utilities

Progress continues on the rebuilding of the François d’Assise Nicolas Barré (FANB) private secondary school (collège and lycée) on Avenue de Roqueville and the construction of the Diocesan House on Rue Bellevue. Work to connect the buildings to the electricity, telephone and water utility networks is scheduled to take place from 9 January to mid-November 2017.

The work will be carried out in three phases:

  • 9 January to early March 2017: complete closure of Rue Paradis. A diversion will be put in place via Avenue Saint Michel, Rue des Genêts andRue des Roses.
  •  From early March to late June 2017, phase 2 will impact Rue de la Source between Rue des Roses and Avenue de Roqueville. In August, phase 2b will affect the area between Avenue de Roqueville and the border with France and, in parallel, between Rue de la Source and Rue Bellevue.

Both phases will entail complete closure of the roads affected. Local traffic restrictions will be put in place in coordination with the commune of Beausoleil.

  • Early October to mid-November 2017: the final phase will be carried out between Rue Bellevue and Boulevard Princesse Charlotte.

The future FANB private school will bring together the collège classes from the Rocher site and those from the lycée, and will be able to accommodate up to 750 pupils. Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2018, ready for pupils returning after the winter break in 2019.

The future Diocesan House will be built on the site of the former Villa Roma at 18 Rue Bellevue. It will rise five storeys above Rue Bel Respiro and will bring together the pastoral and administrative teams. It will also be able to host religious education sessions, ceremonies and events.
