The partnership between Monaco’s Fire and Emergency Service and the Burkina Faso National Fire Brigade was first established in 2004. In 2016, a sectoral framework cooperation agreement was concluded to strengthen this collaboration.

Over more than a decade, this partnership has provided support to the Burkinabe emergency services through training and the donation of equipment.

All of these programmes, which have received EUR 1 million in funding, have helped to train 518 firefighters from 22 African countries, and have improved the everyday working conditions of 1,200 Burkinabe firefighters.
