On 22 June 2017, in Strasbourg, H.E. Mr. Rémi Mortier, Permanent Representative of Monaco to the Council of Europe, signed two contracts with the Deputy Secretary General, Ms. Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, for the payment of voluntary contributions to its programmes, for a total amount of EUR 25,000.

The first programme, supported for the amount of EUR 15,000, will cover the protection of biodiversity under the Berne Convention on the Conservation of Wild Fauna and Flora.  The Monegasque contribution will be aimed in particular at protecting natural habitats and developing special areas for protected species in the Republic of Moldova.

The Prince's Government has also made a voluntary contribution of EUR 10,000 to the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).  This financial support has made it possible to better organise the launch meeting of this body's Fifth Evaluation Round on the prevention of corruption and the promotion of integrity within governments and senior executive positions, as well as law enforcement authorities.  This includes providing more evaluators with the opportunity to receive training in the specificities of this evaluation round.

These voluntary contributions are in addition to the three-year agreement covering the period 2015-2017, which was signed with the Council of Europe for a total amount of EUR 200,000.
