HIV/AIDS Awareness-Raising and Prevention among Pupils from the Principality: Part III

© Manuel Vitali - Direction de la Communication

As part of the HIV/AIDS preventative health activities by the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, in close partnership with "Fight Aids Monaco" and the Monegasque Red Cross, 112 pupils from four Year 11 classes at Monaco's Vocational and Catering School (Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco) (LHTM) attended a "fashionable lunch" held today at "Le Cordon d’Or " training restaurant.

These convivial occasions, initiated in 2008 by a student of the LTHM, enable pupils to discuss issues related to HIV prevention, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and sexuality in general with speakers who are familiar with this type of interaction.

At the "fashionable lunches," boys and girls were seated separately (41 girls and 71 boys this year) at tables of 5 to 6 guests.

As a reminder, in February and March, six "fashionable lunches," financed by the Monegasque Red Cross, were held under the benevolent authority of the activities leader from the Community Education Association and the social worker from the LTHM, with the support of four volunteers from "Fight Aids Monaco."
