Didier Gamerdinger Meets the Doctors and Nurses of Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre

Didier Gamerdinger, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, visited Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre (CCM) on Monday 2 October.  He was welcomed by Professor Vincent Dor, Chairperson, Dr. Jean-Joseph Pastor and Guy Nervo, Managing Directors of the Centre.

31 years after it first opened, the CCM is a model of excellence in cardiothoracic diseases, thanks to the skill of its medical and surgical teams and the excellent resources it has at its disposal.

Some of the doctors come from foreign countries to operate or train in this private, totally autonomous centre, which is dedicated to cardiac diseases.

Since it first opened, Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre has treated 65,000 patients and performed 20,000 open-heart procedures.  Over the years, operations have been carried out on almost 2,250 children with malformations.

Today, the hospital has 51 hospital beds, 15 intensive care beds with a dedicated nurse for each patient and 7 day care units.  Following his visit, Didier Gamerdinger stated that, "Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre is a benchmark establishment in its area of specialisation.  It's a credit to Monaco."
