A delegation from Monaco, comprised of Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Dr. Alexandre Bordero, Director of Health Affairs, is taking part in the 4th High-Level Meeting of the WHO's Small Countries of Europe Initiative, held in Malta on 26 and 27 June 2017.

The theme addressed at this session in Malta is "building resilient societies."  This meeting follows the meeting held in the Principality on 11 and 12 October 2016.

More general issues are also on the agenda, such as how we can improve societies' resistance and recovery in health crisis situations.

The discussions are likely to focus on more concrete matters, such as how to ensure that there are enough skilled health workers, how to guarantee access for all to the most innovative medicines, and how to combat obesity.

As a reminder, the WHO's Small Countries of Europe initiative includes eight countries (Andorra, San Marino, Malta, Montenegro, Luxembourg, Iceland, Cyprus and Monaco) and aims to establish cooperation between countries, which, because of their size, face similar public health issues.
