On the third floor of Villa Paloma, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco is presenting an exhibition of recent acquisitions made thanks to support from UBS (Monaco) S.A. Eleven of the 19 works acquired through this partnership are being exhibited: by Matti Braun, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Francesco Gennari, Apostolos Georgiou, Jef Geys, João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva, Roland Flexner, Jean-Michel Sanejouand and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané.

UBS has been supporting NMNM’s exhibitions as a main partner for six years, and the company’s commitment has been extended to include enriching and sustaining national collections of contemporary art. This exhibition of the collection is a highlight of the NMNM’s programme for 2018.

The endowment from UBS, supplementing the budget allocated by the State, has allowed the museum to expand its collection of important works by living artists which match the major themes for exploration and research on which its acquisitions policy is based.

These themes include the arts, science and technology, particularly with respect to the history of photography, cinema and automata; landscape as a mental rather than natural construct, a territory founded on breaking down boundaries and otherness; and performance, staging, set design and similar activities.
