Work Resumes on the Port of Ventimiglia
Two months after the acquisition of the concession for the Ventimiglia marina by the Principality of Monaco, through the SociétéMonégasque Internationale Portuaire (SMIP), a subsidiary of the Monaco Port Authority (SEPM), work resumed yesterday on the Port of Ventimiglia, Cala del Forte.
On this first day of work, the Mayor of Ventimiglia, Mr. Enrico Ioculano, reiterated his satisfaction with the project. This scheme will make it possible to associate Ventimiglia with the image of Monaco.
Mr. Gianbattista Borea d’Olmo, the Director-General of the SEPM, then presented the various phases of the work to the local media.
He recalled that the port complex will include 171 berths, from 6 m to 60 m, approximately 400 parking spaces and a shipyard, in addition to 3,800 m² of commercial premises.
Delivery of the complex is scheduled for 2019, and the work will cost EUR 50 million.
