In front of numerous personalities who attended the event, Mr Bini gave a full overview of the preceding year, describing it as “an intense year, full of successes and challenges”,and highlighted the following in particular:

- An intensive phase of work on the new hospital, with the diversion of Avenue Pasteur and the construction of a 534-space car park.

- The official opening by T.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of the crèche extension on 6 July.

- The appointment of numerous Monegasques to leadership roles, such as the Head of the Check-Up Unit, the Deputy Head of the Blood Transfusion Centre, a senior health manager in the Children’s Department and two care directors.

- A budget kept in check for the ninth consecutive year despite a slight deficit of less than 0.5% of the budget, offset by the hospital’s continuing appeal and an increase of more than 2% in admissions and 5% in consultations.

- A high patient satisfaction rate based on 6,084 completed exit questionnaires and the fact that 91.6% of scores awarded for hospital stays were rated as 8 out of 10 or higher.

Mr Bini concluded his speech by assuring all staff that, in conjunction with the Prince’s Government, the hospital management would continue to strive to preserve the establishment’s Monegasque social model.

H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince was keen to express his commitment to the hospital and those who make it what it is, noting that “with more than 2,700 employees, Princess Grace Hospital is one of our country’s leading employers, not only through the numerous elements that make up the hospital itself, but also through associated institutions such as the Rainier III Centre, Cap Fleuri and A Qietüdine. This shows the magnitude of the missions with which the hospital has been entrusted in the social and care sectors. My Government must therefore continue to listen to you and maintain a close interest in the activities of the hospital.”
