Address Ceremony for the Press by the Minister of State

H.E. the Minister of State, Serge Telle, accompanied by members of the Government, extended his best wishes to the editors of the main local and regional media.

This traditional time of sharing was an opportunity for the Minister of State to discuss the forthcoming national elections, give an update on the Government's policy and outline the main approaches for the year 2018.

The Minister of State also spoke of the importance he places on the work of the media, stating, "I believe more than ever in the need for the press, at a time when, like you, I know that the press is criticised everywhere, the need for it is contested, its role is called into question and its economic model upset by the arrival of social networks.  I wish to tell you to what extent I am convinced by the scale of your mission and the desire for excellence that guides you."
